Some of the most important lessons behind Aligned KPIs came from more than a decade working as a CEO and alongside CEOs, investors and operators within billion-dollar venture capital firms.
Venture firms may have dozens or even hundreds of companies in their portfolios. They can’t run each business themselves. Instead, they use disciplined frameworks (trusted data, consistent metrics, operating rhythms and clear accountability) to see quickly what’s working, what isn’t and where leadership attention is needed.
DJ adapted those frameworks to his own companies and, eventually, to the CEOs and organizations he advised. They weren’t theory. They were how serious operators kept their bearings.
